New details have surfaced about Supernatural star Jared Padalecki’s harrowing car accident in Austin, Texas about two weeks ago.

The crash caused Jared, 39, to miss a fan event for his show Supernatural last week in New Jersey, where his co-star Jensen Ackles announced from the stage that Jared had survived a ‘very bad car accident.’

Now an accident report obtained by TMZ has revealed Jared was a passenger in a Tesla that turned left too quickly, prompting it to careen over a concrete retaining wall and slam headlong into a steel pole.

After striking the utility pole, the automobile went spinning off to the right, according to the report from the Texas Department Of Transportation.

The car is said to have been driven by a cousin of Jared’s, Jeremy Padalecki, who allegedly got a speeding citation and sustained the gravest injuries.

Four people were reportedly seated in the car in total, with Jared and Jeremy sitting up front and two others behind.

The new details emerged just days after Jared reassured fans he is ‘on the mend’ after a near-tragic car accident.

The Supernatural star is ‘lucky to be alive’ following a ‘very bad’ car smash, which led to him having to pull out of a planned appearance at a fan convention for the show on Sunday.

But the Texas native has now taken to Instagram to reveal he is hoping to return to filming ‘later this week’ as he posed for a new photo with his daughter Odette, age five.

‘Hey y’all! I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love,’ wrote Jared on Instagram. ‘I’m definitely on the mend and hoping to return to filming later this week.’
